Meager Immortality

A circus mother in linoleum relief chimes with Copland’s Transcendence,
Dormant cellular yearning reawakens to wed life with art.
Body, heart and mind vibrate with gripping ardor,
Fully present in every cell’s rapture.
Each nerve sings in unison the chord of stardust progeny.
I sew new seeds to bear the ancient fruit.
And renew the most sacred vow and credo:
I do.
